As the saying goes, "The money is in the list." This is true in virtually all types of businesses, whether it is a brick and mortar retail shop, online network marketing company, or anything in between.
What is a list? It is simply a database of names and basic contact information of people who share a common interest in your chosen topic, service, or product.
Creating a lead capture page is essential when building a list or online ventures. This page can be about virtually anything but there are some necessary ground rules for creating one that effectively helps build your business.
First-Keep it simple. Limit your lead capture page to just one page and keep all the really important information within the screen that viewers see WITHOUT having to scroll down. Allow viewers to easily opt-in.
Second-Secure a domain name that is catchy, relevant and easy to remember and point it to your lead capture page. Most people like to buy their domain names at GoDaddy.com, although there are several sites where you can buy after market, i.e. expired, domain names, including NameJet.com, Sedo.com and snapnames.com. Whatever domain name you choose, try to get one ending in.com.
Third-Allow for your page to be easily replicated. For others to follow your lead, you must make it as easy as possible for them to follow your footsteps toward success.
Fourth-Do not give too much information away. Sometimes in the attempt to give full disclosure, entrepreneurs tell prospects more than is necessary at that stage in the game. Too much information may not benefit the prospect early on because they don't yet comprehend how it works and may become overloaded.
Fifth-Link your page to an auto responder. This helps keep you in contact with your prospects even if you are sleeping, on vacation, or otherwise away from your business.
Sixth-Personalize your page with photos, audio recordings and/or video. This improves your conversion rate into viable prospects. People buy from people with whom they feel a connection. They more they know about you, the more comfortable they will be when it's time to do business with you.
Seventh-Offer a valuable freebie to people who opt in. This could be just about anything, including entering for a free drawin or a free gift. If you don't have something like this to offer, a great place to find a product is through ClickBank.
Service your list effectively
As already discussed, people buy from people, so let them get to know who you are. Be honest and candid. The more they know about you, the more they are likely to find a commonality with which to build rapport. Don't embellish. Find and use your own voice. Use tools like videos, pictures and audio recordings so readers feel they know who you are. And always talk as if you are speaking directly to that individual.
Offer value to the reader by giving them your perspective, news, updates, etc. I would not suggest you bombard readers with sales pitches on the latest and greatest opportunities out there. Rather, only promote the products or services you would personally use.
The more contact you have, the better. Keep yourself at the forefront. That said, don't bombard your readers and cause fatigue. What this means is different for different people, but I know from my own personal experience I do NOT like getting emails from the same person more than once a day. Some experts recommend contacting your list only once or twice per month. However, use your own discretion here.
Once you have your systems in place, it is time to begin marketing your lead capture page, blog or other sites. This must be done by building an online presence, whether through social networking, blogging, self branding, surfing for traffic, placing free ads, or other traffic generating activities.
Consistency is essential. Try to learn one new skill each week and implement it. By taking baby steps and doing a little bit every day, you will begin to build your list and your online business.

Feeling Overwhelmed By All The Home Business and Internet Opportunity Hype?
If so, you are not alone. There is so much out there and every opportunity promises the moon! If you are like me, you get a little bit suspicious of those sites that promote outrageous personal riches using slick images of fast cars and large homes. To me, it plays in peoples’ greed and looks like a fly-by-night vehicle to take your money and run.
Perhaps I am wrong. I know some of those sites have been around for a few years. Others pop up every day, are heavily promoted by affiliates, and then drop off into oblivion with nary another glance. So, where do you turn?
In the past year or so, I’ve noticed an up tick in the next generation of Internet promotion sites. Instead of offering you seemingly unlimited income overnight simply by signing up, this new breed actually offers to TEACH YOU THE INS AND OUTS OF INTERNET MARKETING! (And of course, some sites incorporate both the education and slick images of wealth.)
Most of these sites appear to genuinely want to help people succeed. And people ARE succeeding. The Internet has opened new and unprecedented opportunities for individuals to obtain wealth in ways we could not fathom even as recently as 10 years ago.
The catch, of course, is you need to actually take the time to LEARN the tricks to effective Internet marketing. That takes effort on your part. And time. And often times--although not always--Seed Money.
I am always looking for ways to increase my knowledge and productivity as I navigate home business opportunities in cyberspace. But some of these sites seem to make me more confused than before. The content is difficult to access or the site isn’t terribly concise. And they generally all require membership fees.
So if you don’t have the budget and don’t know how to start, where do you go?
There are some excellent ebooks out there, such as Brad Weinman’s “Attraction Marketing Blueprint,” that takes you step by step on how to market yourself and successfully build an online business. However, sometimes you need someone to hold your hand and guide you through the process, a service which an e-book usually cannot provide.
The fastest way to get started online is to begin marketing other products as an affiliate. This is done through ClickBank. If you’ve been looking at online opportunities for a while, you undoubtedly are familiar with this company. They offer training too! And that part is free.

Is this the end of social advertising?
The realm of social advertising seems to be in an uproar right now.
Although I only actively participate in two, most of the more popular sites appear to be undergoing a lot of changes lately and are trying to reinvent themselves away from the weekly rebates and into other programs completely unrelated to social advertising.
Sadly these programs are now coming forward and admitting the programs are not sustainable in their current form.
AdGateWorld
This group has been trying to revamp their program since the business was sold and new management took over. Since then, we've been in a "wait and see" mode.
They now came out with an announcement that the program will no longer exist in its present form but instead will be launching other, more sustainable programs to its members.
Here is part of the announcement they made regarding this change:
"AdGateWorld will cease to exist in its current form but we will continue to communicate and bring REAL strategies that we are developing to your inbox. Some of these are brand new internet concepts that will be shared with each of you FIRST before public launch. Some are completely passive while others are affiliate based. We believe that placing our focus on these non-surf projects will be far more successful at this stage. Everything that we are working on WILL be shared with former AdGateWorld members. In the coming weeks you will have the ability to gain a spot (limited to 500) in the pre-launch of RocketRaffle.com. It is the first 24 hour online raffle system that will provide massive traffic generation and an affiliate program. Members of AdGateWorld that chose to participate will reap the benefits of this incredible new project. Today may be the end of one dream but all of us will succeed in the exciting projects that will be introduced shortly."
Current AGW members can choose to participate in these programs and I believe we can still advertise our sites without the benefit of revenue sharing.

This group announced a few weeks ago they have no choice but to halt revenue sharing/ad rebates. This was sad news as so many of us believed in this program, and many other social advertising sites copied this program.
Right now the group is busy processing all payouts requested by pro members. As of Friday, payouts to Solid Trust Pay were pending but Alert Pay and Strict Pay were mostly complete.
Since they announced they would no longer pay out rebates, they seem to be working hard to promote other revenue streams, in which all members can participate. The main program at this point is http://tradinggold4cash.com/.
All Pro members with balances under $10,000 are still required to surf each day. Once the payouts are complete, this group will roll out a new Revenue Share program.

What's Happening with AdGateWorld and Ad-Ventures4U Social Advertising
Social Advertising has been an interesting and rapidly growing forum for increasing exposure to web sites and blogs, as well as create weekly revenue through the revered profit-sharing structure.
Two of the more popular sites I am actively participating in are AdGateWorld and Ad-Ventures4U. Both businesses are less than a year old and both currently seem to be having growing pains.
Let's begin with AdGate.
AdGateWorld
This group officially launched January 2009 after several months of prelaunch buzz. I joined as a free member in November 2008 and began tracking them, and invested money in the spring. The group seemed to be running pretty well and offered great promotions up until the upgrades they did earlier this summer.
The new look and feel of the site after their upgrades was nice. They credited back all monies, including bonus money from upgrades and promotions, as a way of saying "thank you" to their loyal followers. The pay structure they were implementing looked good too, as it would offer higher compensation for revenue sharing.
Also the various areas this group launched, such as AdGate Classifieds, and the ever developing AdGate Finance and GateScout, are added bonuses to members as a way to connect with others, share information and opportunities, and generally gain insight and knowledge.
During the upgrade period, the site was down for roughly a week. It came back online and everything seemed to look pretty solid.
About a week later, this group announced new management was acquiring and taking over all aspects of AdGateWorld, but assured us they would take the business to the next level and not much would change.
Offline, I am a business broker. So that critical side of me kicked in upon this news. As a business broker, as well as to prospective buyers of businesses, a business less than 2 years old being sold is a HUGE red flag. Why so soon? What's the underlying reason for wanting or needing to sell? What led to the owners' decision to sell while the business is still ramping up and getting established?
If you are a member of AdGate, you are undoubtedly getting their email correspondence and seeing their updates on the "In Touch" page. They basically acknowledged earlier this week the company is running in the red and they are taking steps to fix the current financial situation.
The down side is I, and presumably many people, have not seen any revenue sharing for two weeks. That means I haven't seen rebates from my ad packs since new management took over.
The argument is that revenue is down, the promotional bonuses previously offer are dragging down the company overhead, new money coming into the organization has flat lined, and they must remain solvent. They are asking everyone to do their part to bring in new money and members so everyone will benefit going forward.
Obviously, these are solid reasons to be conservative with their cash flow, but I fear this will have the opposite effect of what they want and badly need. The longer they hold out on those of us who are actively participating in the program, surfing the required sites, and opting to roll over weekly ad rebates, the more likely people will bolt, pull their money, and stop promoting.
And so a downward spiral will go.
I truly hope this will not happen. I understand AdGate's side of the story, but also see how people will get upset if this continues much longer.
My sense is they are working through an uncomfortable growing pain and come out the other end a more secure and solid company.
My recommendation is to proceed cautiously with this group for the next month or so and see if things smooth out. If you decide to purchase new ad packs, only invest what you are comfortable spending.

Ad-Ventures4U
This group is also upgrading their site and servers. I think this is a good thing, because it was taking forever for sites to load while doing my daily surfing.
Steve is very good about communicating to all members at least once each day about what is happening, and communication is always a good sign. :-)
It seems like they are having some problems with scripting as the current site is up but they are diligently working to launch the new "gold" site. I am not surprised by this. Upgrades always seems to take longer than expected and technological improvements invariably bring about an unanticipated snafu.
Generally I think the site is becoming easier to navigate and I look forward to seeing all the features and benefits they roll out.
The biggest problem I am personally seeing with this group surrounds the surf feature. For the last 7-10 days Ad-Ventures has added a ticker that counts down the sites remaining you must surf to qualify for the rebate.
That's great...except it almost always seems to stop and freeze up with just one site left to surf. And if I refresh? It starts the counter again! ARGH!
This week Ad-Ventures changed this ticker to count down in increments of five. Pro Members are still required to surf 25 sites each day, so we need to count how many groups of 5 sites we surf. Again, that's fine although it makes for more work keeping track of the actual number of sites surfed.
Although they haven't specifically said, I think this change might be because so many members were having trouble getting their surf credits.
The problem I encountered yesterday was that the surf page froze again twice while I had just one site left in each of the "five packs". There doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it. I hope for everyone's sake they get this glitch fixed soon and we see a smooth transition to the fully integrated new site.
Ad-Ventures is a little behind on their ad rebate compensation, but they ARE paying and are good about communicating payment status to all members.
This group has been saying their memberships are growing at a phenomenal rate and recently hit 55,000 members. We have to take their word on this and I see no reason to doubt it. Overall this group seems to be on the ball and working in good faith for everyone, and I intend to keep tracking this group.

Introducing a New Program and Updates on Others
Greetings! I hope you are done with all the end-of-schoolyear and/or graduation craziness that plagues so many of us this time of year. My son graduated from preschool! Did such fanfare exist when I finished preschool way back when? I honestly don't remember, but somehow doubt it.
We've also been busy with various cousins graduating from 6th grade, high school and college! And now we're gearing up for my son's 5th birthday celebration and lots of visitors over the coming month. This summer promises to be fun and busy!
And ya know, that's the reason why any of us look at passive income opportunities, isn't it? I don't know about you, but I personally LOVE receiving money even if I take some time off to focus on friends and family. It's so much better than the rat race! :-D

This is NEW program in my portfolio I am really excited about.
QLx3 uses the same model that MrsVIP/V-Lane is utilizing. It combines a front-end networking model (matrix) with a passive income producing model. Those who choose to actively promote it are rewarded for their efforts by virtue of extra income from the matrix.
However, the vast majority of the members are totally passive. They haven't earned a dime from the matrix, yet they're very pleased with their earnings from the passive income producing vehicles.
Minimum to get started: $260
What is QLX3?
QLx3 is a Global Social Network that holds an exclusive gateway to a very private organization whose members can join an International Credit Union.
Once you upgrade to "active status" in QLx3, you're invited to join The Oxford Privacy Group (OPG), which offers its members ownership and deposit privileges in the Credit Union, where projected earnings are an average of .4% to 1%+ - compounded daily per trading day. (Roughly 10 - 18% per month)
Members may make deposits up to a $10,000 limit during any 180 day period.
The fact that your deposit never expires (earn for life) and that interest can be compounded does make the return more attractive.
Generally monies in for 1 year have increased to 400%. Those from the beginning of late May 2007 until September 16, 2008 = $10K became $48.6K
Another important thing to note is that deposits into the Credit Union are claimed to be backed up and insured by a major company. I can't disclose the name due to a non-disclosure agreement, but I'm not aware of any other private program that provides an insurance policy to its members. This, by itself, is a powerful enough reason to join.
They have a very conservative approach to making money by doing solid research to find secure returns; they work hard at it. The insurance company recently doubled the insurance coverage per member from $50,000 to $100,000 - obviously because they see this as low risk.Because of the chaos in the markets of late, they've been able to cash in on some great profits.
In the period from October 6th through October 23rd there was an increase of 14.35%.There are monthly fees for QLx3 of $15 ($50 to join which includes your first month's fees). Then one must join the Privacy Group with an annual membership fee of $150. Then you need to submit some sort of photo ID and secondary ID--such as a utility bill, in order to prove you exist and reside at the address you give. Once your KYC documents (identification) are submitted and verified, the Credit Union and benefits can be accessed.
There's no Forum for QLx3 or OPG, but there's an archive of past calls and regular update calls once or twice per month. Everything is low key and straightforward. There are a few things on the QLx3 site: Recommended programs like V-Lane and Treasures. The program also set up so members can withdraw funds ONCE a week--on Fridays. Members are allowed to withdraw up to 70% of the rebate cash balance on this day only. The remaining cash balance is reinvested in advertising packages early Saturday.
It is important to understand that if members do NOT withdraw funds, it will be automatically reinvested into these ad packs every Saturday.
